For this project, I was tasked to create a promo reel for a random band. My band was Talking Heads and I had to pick three songs, and every time I changed to another song it had to change the animation style in the video. My entire goal in this project was to create something that recycled some old ideas while making it fresh and new. This allowed me to do a lot of research on bands I never heard of while learning new ways to incorporate design into my animations. This project is where I got out of my comfort zone and tried different types of media and animation to make my piece stand out more. Overall, this is one of my most successful and strongest motion pieces because it captures the wierd personality of the band Talking Heads while also showcasing some of my design styles.
Here is the video of my project

Here you can find all the newspapers I designed myself for this motion piece, I took inspiration from the actual newspapers you would see in those times which was around the beginning of the 1980's.
Animatic
Here, you can find the animatic alongside the storyboards, A lot of changes were made during the project process but in the end, they were for the better.

This was one of the things that took me the longest to make during the creation of my project, a mixed media effect on top of a video clip. For this single animation, I had to take a photo of each frame from the original music video which resulted in a total of 114 frames that I had to later print on a piece of paper. This resulted in 14 pages that I had to print and not only that I had to draw scribbles in each printed frame to create the effect, and then later put them on Photoshop to turn them into jpgs and individual frames again. This took me days to do but the result is so good and it captures the wierd feeling you feel with the song Once in a Lifetime.
